Gosainkunda Lake is the holy pilgrimage of both Hindu and Buddhist religions. Hindu people also believe that the god Shiva intoxicated by grief due to his wife’s (Parvati) death, felt over thirsty so he hit in the rock with his holy stick,(Trisul) thus created this lake. The image of Shiva can be seen in the surface of water according to Hindu religion.
